I saw this on Facebook and I had to share it with you guys.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?t=57&v=RiHmUeeA9GA

This is apparently from a rough mix. What do you guys think?

This is pretty crazy stuff, I wonder how on earth this person dug this up.

Anyway, I can sort of see what Lee and Gary were talking about when they said Rob sounded kinda bored. It just doesn't have that fire and intensity that he showed off on Exhibit A and B, and I feel Zetro's take on it was more inspired. Some of Rob's melody choices seem odd.

It is also interesting to hear how drums engineered by Sneap sound raw.

I actually like it more than the Zet version, which is weird, because I've been Zet all the way.

I will most likely be combining this topic with the earlier posts about this subject.

I like it. It has to be a bootleg though. I can't see the band allowing this to get out here. It sounds like someone (an insider obviously) taped the track being played somewhere with his cellphone.

Metalsucks.net posted it and one of my friends that's into metal commented about the video from that point. So I went to the link that was posted, saw the video, got the link, and posted it.

I'm with Basic on this one - definitely seems like an inside job. No way this could have leaked out from someone on the outside.

Like I said though, Rob sounds like a monster on the song, but I've been listening to Zet for so long on BIBO that it's hard to imagine anyone else for the role of vocalist now. LOL...still, just hearing that makes me miss Rob all the more.

I mentioned a cellphone because you will notice the sounds distorted when Rob sings. That's because cellphones often don't record loud music well and the result is garbled when someone posts a concert video. Nuclear Blast probably doesn't like it. If the band doesn't want it up here, it's gone.

No, in the case of this track, it seems more like just a very, very, rough demo. In the middle section when it's just the guitar, the first is on the left and the second is on the right. That's not something a cell phone would be able to pick up. I think these are old demo versions this guy somehow got a hold of, maybe he's close to the band and got them sent to him, I dunno.

Salt the wound is someone's edit of the finished track and robs rough track since Kirk's solo and robs vocals have never met on a track. We can all guess where this came from can't we? Andy Sneap even said you can here the guitar tones change when vocals start. Oh well, I aint gonna get all riled up, which I'm sure is the purpose! Enjoy

Don't post any more links to the songs. They're not authorized.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious that they put the finished versions in for the instrumentals, I guess because they sound better? IDK, it seems unnecessary.

Anyone think Rob or an acquaintance of Rob would have done this to make some kind of point?

Edit: Metal Injection has both versions of the song posted and an instant poll asking if fans prefer the Souza or Dukes version. So far Dukes is winning by a good margin. Incidentally, I found out about it from a Tweet on Rob's Twitter page. He tweeted he has no idea where the Dukes versions came from, then posted a link to it. :?

looks like this same account posted demos for body harvest and black 13 too. I can't say I'm on board with te dukes train on this one even though Ive said how he's my fave exodus singer. his delivery on blood in blood out isn't that great and I wasnt a fan of the early version of body harvest. sometimes he sounds great other times it's halfassed. black 13 was cool though he has a nice roar on that demo. whatever I'm happy with the way the finished product came out steve sounds brutal. I'll stick with steve on this one

I'm sure alot of EXODUS fans wondered what the new tunes would sound like with Dukes. Now we know.

Cool to hear, but he's gone. EXODUS has moved on. Now the fans that wish Dukes was still in the band should move on too.

I personally think someone used some type of software tool to edit and add Rob's voice. To me his vocals sound like they were spliced together. I ran Blood In Blood Out through Audacity and his vocals are chopped like every 2 seconds and the pattern is the same for only his vocals.

Something just doesn't seem right when I listened to these Rob tracks with headphones on. It's way more annoying than a bad cell phone recording.
But hey, I'm probably wrong though.

I was hella excited though!

It's like this. It was badly edited and leaked. On purpose. Nothing to worry about. Enjoy. There you have it! Someone went to a lot of trouble and I'm sure wishes they had more compete tracks to work with other than bad quality demos and a finished album to play around with. Me, I have better things to do than play music producer! :D

Are you thinking it was Rob or someone from his camp that edited and leaked it?

Won't post the links, but I did hear Rob's take on Black 13. He fucking killed it.

First, this is good publicity for the band, all viral stuff like this will create a nice buzz. So from a marketing perspective, I'd say that this is positive for the band..

Second, no intention to lick Gary's or Chuck's ass here, bet they made a smart move imo.. I think that Rob sounds a bit generic and tired imo.. and Steve killed it all the way..
and it feels more natural that Steve sings: "We wrote the book so you better know the plot" :P

I'm a big Dukes fan, all his previous work is great, but compare these demos to his brilliant raw powerful raging vocals on SHKM, there's a difference imo.. but I wish Rob all the luck in the future, he's a great dude..

That's lame as fuck. Say what you want about Zetro, at least he never recorded his version of SHKM.

kinda funny reading all the hateful comments on steve... when he was not in the band, people want him back, now when he is in, they want him out (not everybody of course (there are some people that still have they ears ok )) because in no way in this universe is rob´s singing over steve´s... I like the slower version of Blood in blood out and that´s all, the rest is all about bleeding ears again...with Steve it´s thrash metal at it´s best. C´mon people!
