At first: Hello from GERMANY! Yes, just one of these Exodus addicts from Berlin again...

Now my question:
I know that some of you guys (and the Thrash master himself too) are using the Presonus eq3b. I bought one of these units and now I’m thinking about using this thing correctly.
Do you use the low and high knobs or are you just shaping the mids with the three mid knobs? What about this BW knob? How do you set it? And the db boost? 3 o’clock or something?

Or to be honest:
Someone knows Garys settings... harar - just another sound-wannabe! No! Gear freak...

Is Gary using the Doomsday and Skull Crusher just to boost his solos or is he using it for his brutal crunch rhythm tone...

Thanks

come on guys... just some advice concerning the mid frequencies I should boost to get a bit more attack and crunch and how much this normally is. The +db knob to full is a boost of 12db, which seems to be alot. what about this bandwidth knob? it starts with a light curve and progresses to a sharp one.

help *banghead*

thanks again

I will get some examples to you later. I only use the mid band and I run it in front of the input rather than the loop. More powerful in the loop but I like the rsults when hitting the input with it. So yeah, I shape my mids with it, to dial in a bit of that wah pedal type crunch. Savage!

i picked one of these up finally, couldn't decide on which EQ I wanted, went with gary's advice. Thing does rule, perfect for balancing out the mids on a XXX amp.

Congratulations! I really like this little crunch machine...
How do you set the three mid knobs?

if you put a very low and deep bandwidth cut in the upper mids does it sound like jensen speakers?

really though, you should get some charts of speaker's frequency response curves from celestion fane jensen eminence goodman

I think this is close to Gary's settings.

scooped mids on amp, boosted on eq.
