After I posted this the other day I sat down and learned the end of No Stone Unturned, because that riff before the last solo section is epic...I got the first half of the solo that Lee does figured out and then the hard on I got that I actually DID figure it out ripped my jeans and I had to go out and buy a new pair... *lol*

I've mostly been learning Arch Enemy solos and other gothenburg melodic death metal band solos because they're just usually really fresh and melodic and interesting and my style. Other than that I've been busy writing and learning all the songs for my bands album, that tends to take the majority of my time haha (I try to practice rhythm as much as I can but man it's tough finding the time for that).

Paranoid- Black Sabbath
N.I.B- Black Sabbath
For Whom the Bell Tolls- Metallica
Mandatory Suicide- Slayer
Seasons in the Abyss- Slayer

I am mainly working on Rhythm, Getting the rhythm down good on those songs. I know I won't be the next Gary Holt or even Dimebag, but I am not trying to be them, I want to create my own style and take a little bit from my heroes and melt it into how I play. And I am becoming a lot better. Much better. 8)

If I had more toys to add to my sound I could further evolve my style, and I will be soon. A new foot pedal with multi-effects is what I am hoping to get soon. 8)

I dropped one of my Dinky's to D standard....Working on all the Exodus shit from the last three albums that I can figure out! The Motohead thing got canned since I may have a job change coming up soon and no time for another band right now...so I'll learn what I want!!!

I used to learn a ton of songs by ear to get my musical ear better (it really has helped, tabs were good in the start but I can learn songs by ear super quickly while most of the people i know that play guitar can't unless you give them a tab or play it right in front of their face slowly) but i've been so busy with recording and work i haven't been able to and have mostly been only practicing my own bands stuff haha. it really sucks because i need to keep practicing for my right hand rhythm and i need to get better at solos (my rhythm is where i want it to be and is solid but my solos are mostly just slayer bumblebee super fast shred and the same scales).
